CV1000 BENCHMARK (by buffi)
===============

A benchmark for Cave's CV1000-B arcade hardware.

There are two builds:

menu boots to a menu; pick a test or RUN ALL
autorun boots straight into RUN ALL and stays on the summary screen
at the end. This is the build used to compare a PCB, MiSTer
            and MAME.

No game data is included.
The graphics flash (u2) and the sound flash are blank, as the benchmark
uses neither.

CONTENTS
--------

mame/README.txt how to run it in MAME
mame/menu/cv1kbench.zip the menu build as a MAME romset
mame/autorun/cv1kbench.zip the autorun build as a MAME romset
mister/_Arcade/*.mra MiSTer MRAs for both builds
  mister/games/mame/cv1kbench.zip
                               the ROMs both MRAs load

MAME
----

See mame/README.txt. In short: copy one of the cv1kbench.zip files from
mame/ into a folder of its own, rename it to ibara.zip, and run

  mame ibara -rompath <that folder> -nonvram_save

Don't leave out -nonvram_save, or your real Ibara may lose its graphics.
mame/README.txt explains why.

MiSTer
------

For the CV1000 core (ikacore_CV1k), which needs to be installed already.

1. Copy mister/_Arcade/*.mra to /media/fat/_Arcade/ on the SD card.
2. Copy mister/games/mame/cv1kbench.zip to /media/fat/games/mame/ (the
folder where your other arcade zips are).
3. Start "CV1000 Benchmark" or "CV1000 Benchmark (auto run)" from the
   Arcade menu.

Button 1 runs a test, button 2 aborts it.

A REAL BOARD
------------

The u4 image in any of the MAME zips can be written to a CV1000 U4 flash
over JTAG. That replaces the game's program, so dump U4 first and know
how to write it back. At your own risk.
